Academic InformationClasses and Registration Don't worry about course registration yet. Registration at Stanford is very laid back; you will have the opportunity to shop around classes and finally decide which classes you want to take during the quarter. Check out the Stanford Academic Calendar 2005-06 for official deadlines. The Stanford Bulletin, which you can pick up on campus at the Old Union, is also accessible on the web and contains all the academic information about the University and its schools, departments, and programs, including all courses. Included are this year's course offerings. Financial Aid Tuition and living expenses are typically provided for students who do not already have fellowships. If you'd like to find out about some other fellowship possibilities, you can check out these sources: Stanford Graduate Fellowship National Science Foundation (NSF)
Additional Stanford informationStanford's New Student's Guide is actually designed for undergrads, but has a lot of useful information regarding banking, computing, the surrounding area, and more. Registrar's Office guide for new graduate students: "Information
about graduate study at Stanford and the San Francisco Bay Area in general." Graduate Student Handbook: "A compendium of information about University
policies, requirements, and resources relevant to Stanford graduate students
irrespective of their school, department, or program affiliation" Campus Life Recreation Directories: Frequently Needed Addresses and Phone Numbers Students Stanford Shopping Center
Beyond Stanford: Life in the Bay AreaThe great web-ified version of the San Francisco Chronicle, known as The Gate, will keep you keyed into the happenings around the Bay Area, including theater, movies, dining, sports, and regional news. Other useful information: Bay
